~ Assignment ~
Choice of subject.
You can choose any subject as long as it pertains to Hong Kong. It can be historical or current, political, economic or social. The main point is that it should be interesting area that you want to know more about. You may operate in a group (maximum 4) or on an individual basis.
* Phillip Bruce will be in charge of helping you with your assignments. He will be coming into the class on a regular basis.
We will need to have the following.
Your skeleton plan with an outline of title and what and why you chose the topic to study for your assignment. This is
to be handed in by June 28th for marking. This will account for 10% of the mark.
Your full assignment to be handed in by the 12 July. This should be as follows.
1) 3000 words minimum if it is a group assignment.
2) 1500 words minimum if you are writing an individual project.
I am sure that I do not have to point out that you write this in your own words and do not copy anything without attribution. It should be clear, with the usual introduction, main text and conclusion. This completed assignment carries 40% of the marks.
The final bit is the examination, which will be held on the 12 July and will last for two hours You will receive past examination papers so that you can work out what type of questions you will be answering. This carries 50% of the marks.
